Getting off the road

Instead of doing the 3k run today, Tanya and I adventured for an hour run in the fabulous mountain bike trails we have in Bathurst. Trail running is so much more fun and challenging then running on roads. We’re just thankfull we didn’t meet any bears on our way!

Fight Gone Weird

A few of us met up Sunday afternoon to attack a workout. We went over a few techniques.  Everybody did great! Jacob was nice enough to lend us his alphabet mat and cheer us on.

Fight Gone Weird

Three rounds of:
Squats
Box Jumps
Push-Press
Situps
Pushups

In this workout you move from each of five stations after a minute. The clock does not reset or stop between exercises. This is a five-minute round from which a one-minute break is allowed before repeating. On call of “rotate”, the athletes must move to next station immediately for best score.

Fitness in a 100 words:

■ Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. ■ Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. ■ Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. ■ Regularly learn and play new sports.
