A good friend of mine was eager to start CrossFit.  So I gave him a one-on-one training yesterday. We practiced the squat/ front squat and overhead squat. His form looked great!  Then I introduced him to…

Tabata Squat, situps, burpees.  TABATA is 8 sets of 20 second work, 10 second rest… for each exercise. Do as many reps as you can in each set. The rounds with the least amount of reps is your score for that exercise. Add each for total score.

Burpees was a bbaaaaad idea :)   Nonetheless, I think he had fun and he wants more. See how he feels tomorow.

Fitness in a 100 words:

■ Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. ■ Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. ■ Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. ■ Regularly learn and play new sports.
